The MX-5 is M-Fly's 5th Advanced Class aircraft which competed in the 2020 SAE Aero Design East competition. It is a remote-controlled box-and-wing aircraft constructed primarily from wood and carbon fiber. Equipped with a 750 Watt-limited motor, the MX-5 is able to carry more than 10 pounds of static and dynamic payload while airborne. It has two delta-wing gliders, one mounted under each wing, which can autonomously navigate to user-inputted GPS coordinates. The MX-5 won 1st place in design in the 2020 SAE Aero Design East Competition.
